why only 60?

Sometimes 60 kays is about all you will want to do.... when there's a big stobie pole on the apex of the other side.... like the one near my house....

The first week I had my very first mini (when it was still a complete granny basher).... was going for a fang down that road, went thru the roundabout at 55-60.... drivers side wheels went up the cambered edge of the roundabout, putting the car up on 2 wheels. The back stepped out further than the front did.... and when the car dropped back down onto all 4 wheels, it straightened up and JUST MISSED that big bastard stobie pole.

Any faster... wouldve wrapped the 850 around the pole. Scary moment.

Dunno - never read that magazine.

But yeah, drivers side about 6 inches off the ground, slight opposite turn on the steering wheel, back coming around, and stobie pole coming fast.....

Ive got some short videos of Russ doing his thing...... and I start to wonder if he upgrades the suspension arms and things like that..... there's alot of weight on that lower control arm.... and how hard must those tyres be!!... 60 PSI?????

For me it is the great feeling every time you drive one of these little treasures. I went for a few years without one and after getting back behind the wheel, I couldn't help smiling every time I drove it. Still do most of the time now.
Also the fact that my wife loves it and helps me with everything doesn't hurt either.

since ive come in on this thread a bit late i definately agree with all of the major responses ie:awesome handling,the classic/ageless look of the car and just the grin factor you get every time you drive it. But i think above all else it's the power it has to turn your day around if even if your day has been a shitter,not to mention the mini community who all help each other out.

the boys never want a lift when you go out drinking cos they can't fit in the back
parking (especially when you hide it right up the back of the park, then you sit in it and watch how many people try to park there )

i find that to only be true if ive got more than 4 people (Including me) in the car at once.
but to be honest, i dont like my mini cuz its a mini, it could be a commodore for all i care, what matters is that it handles great, plays my music at a decent volume and i can drive it hard all day long on the sniff of an oily rag, but another thing that the mini has that all my other cars have had is a little streak of non-conformity, that is the reason i have owned a mazda rx7 and a vr4 powerd cordia turbo in the past, they all did somthing diiferent than the rest.

I love my jap cars and found my rx7 easy to work on, easyer than my mini in fact, i tuned it myself and it didnt take a rocket scientist to do it either, what are mini owners problems with jap cars? is it jelousy? someone enlighten me....
