G'day

I need to remove the rear beaver and boot floor panels as they need replacing in my '65 deluxe. I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on how to seperate these panels at the seams. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated as i'd rather not pay somone to do it.

Cheers

P.S Photos of this project will be posted as soon as i figure out how to :?

That's a real bastard of a job, you'll be there all night scratching your head.
Panel removing is OK though.
:D

Like I said in that thread, I prefer cutting the panel, grinding the seam, and twisting off whats left.

First the cutting off of the panel with the angry grinder. You can still see the part of the panel attached at the seam:

Then some grinding and twisting.

Look at the bottom of the panel in this shot. You can see the little dot of the spot welds. But the panel is nice and smooth.

Now some people recommend drilling the spot welds, but depending on the state of the seam it can be time consuming hard to get the holes spot on, leading to a mess.
I'd prefer a clean panel and drilling some holes later for the plug welds.
