=Ok so you dont get away with no photos
Ok so i did a bit of a go at the mini, just fiddling cleaning making it neater.
So i find a huge patch on the drivers side, i dont know if it is anything> cause its still solid and i cant bash a hold through it yet, even with resonable force.
Image

Image
so there it is
i got some stuff solution i bought today im going to brush that anti rust stuff over it and just give it a go to see if i can convert whatever it is into a more solid substance and see if that fixes it.
but there are so many leaks in the mini, windows seals whatever, its no good  but that looks horrible, and probably is. but ill see what happens, i mean who need a passenger floor anyway
and in the makkas poolroom you can see what i think was the RUST BUG, and see what you reckon.

Ok
so maybe if i was a champion spammer id start a new thread
but i wont
So here is the very 1st time in the 18 months of my mining life that i have seen my seats So it was a  to me to see what they looked like
are these original seats for a 72 clubman?
Image

Here is my engine talking to me
Image
Why?
and does it mean anythign??

I found this heater hose like this too a while ago and took a pic now
Image
tell me what that hoses' function is??

So I took the mini out for drive today for 1st time in ages, a proper drive around town.
It feels really really 'empty' its got no go anymore, and im not just used to the 'power' of the 98kW magna 8) It really is not good, ESpecially popping into 3rd gear, at the traffic lights draggin of da big landcruiser  3rd gear almost feels like its dead, or something?? i dont know. But it heats up heaps, i can hear buzzing/hissing, and i need to get a new radiator mix, of fluids, but the mini manual doesnt explain good how to drain and flush refill radiator :? please tell

the breaks, i dunno. 1st up they are really grabby, and thats good, cause they actually do something, but over time the warm up to nothing, BUT if i drive around with pedal 3 quaters in, where there is no resistance at all, for a few seconds, release pedal, and wham, ive got resonable (where reasonable = still not good, but good compared to usual) brakes, but after one push they go back to nothing. I dont know how stuff works, but about year ago i got told i need new/reco master brake cylinder or i'll never have respecatble brakes, cause they are losing pressure or something , whatever they do.
Also changing gears is stuffed :? its so slow and not liking it, where i could usually, change a gear in one simple whack in the blink of an eye, really, now, i have to wait and wait for it to want to go into gears, even on upshifts, its like its real heavy and chunky or something? :? so there was no supermand take offs or anything,

so
thats a go
mini is still real fun and stuff.
and im sure that im now not going to sell it  8)
But maybe it will die soon, i said i thought it was better, well HAAHHA its not, but i want to make it real nice and stuff for its last bit, I was going to paint everthing silver (inside bits) steering wheel gear stick inicator switch handbreak, door handles and surrounds just to make it shiny, i dont know why, bit im sure i wont, im going to teach me to put back in the airhorns that didnt work, and go around tooting, whenever, maybe, i want maybe to put some shiny lights or somethin about it make it look more different, get a few more stickers, just enjoy it while it lasts  cause its a real sack of crap  leaks, inside and the mechanics, rust  tiny dents and imperfections, harldy noticeable but i see them, rattles, and annoyances of the mini, But its still magically enjoyable and tuff/
YAY for a mini

goodbye people theres a long story hope you like

so are they the original seats for that clubman?

and does it matter that it looks like the motor has a 'pryed' open hole in it :? :?:

so i put teh air horns in today again, after ripping the lot out i just needed to put a 30 instead of 20A fuse in? so now they say toot 8) me with no elec - diagram knowledge at all, so that was fun,

The 72 clubby I had had seats in it like that. They may not be the originals, though.

So tomorrow i will get up 20 minutes earlier :( :(
and i will be driving the mini cause it is going in to have a roadworthy test. Cause i am going to apply for SI, special interest rego for it. It is for cars 30+ years old, and you have to fill in a log book, and it can only be legally driven 52 times a year on the road.
and i hardly ever drive it at all anymore, so ill get that if it passes. for 12 months rego it is 280 bucks, so thats a good good saving which i probably need.
i took it out for a run tonight, but it was backfiring so much, like never before, in 3rd and 4th gear only, it was crazy :? so maybe its not a good thing , i dont know.

so i hope it passes a test, im 99% sure it wont pass, there are too many 'things' taht are cheesecaked, like the oil leak :!: , but i dont care, much, ill just rego it normally

one thing the inspector said, is the pedals need to have rubber on them? Did the accelerator have a rubber pad on it? cause on all piccies ive seen, none of them have one?
i pulled out teh airhorns cause im sure they would like my wiring job :D with live wires hanging off the dash>?> :? but how else am i meant to do it? so ill put em back in whatever happens here

so thats fun wish me luck drivin in the dark tomorrow cause ive got next to no good lights  , just hoping its not raining or icy  but it'll be right

Well if the mini was an unregistered car being tested for roadworthyness, ummm out the door she would be sent. However, it is already registered so i dont have to worry about the list of 'needed' repairs.
Quite strange really.
Here is an approved transport inspection station saying, if that car wasnt regoed, it wouldnt get rego? but it is still registered and on the road? Im not complaining obviously, its just the way it is.

but its real strange, cause when i had the EJ Holden, i took it to a mechanc for a quote on repairs. 2 grand worth of wheel and brake cylinders, pivot points and other random items, cant remember, yet when i sold the car to a family mate, he took it and got it regoed straight away, after 8 years of sitting idle, with no mechanical attention??? tuff old things.

so basically. mini = FAIL roadworthy, but im going to get it re-registered, i'll just forget about the restricted, cheaper old car rego.
but if i have time and cash i might attend to the list of faulty things, and may have another see if i can get this special rego a bit later.
ill ask in separate threads so that the right people can see what i want, so they dont have to read my rubbish.

Mini needs teh front ( maybe ovbiosuly?) Right lower ball (joint?) fixed/renewed, The steering rack needs 'doing'. The bloke said an 'Sh' word, he said. " i look up there and there are 'Sh. . . . something?' but he wouldt fail it cause of this, cause it isnt 'too' bad, need new muffler, cause mini is too loud,

and the brakes and lights.
when i left home, there was the usual, 'maybe there are some brakes' and there was 'enough' for a casual drive. However, as i went down a hill brakes on, slowing me down, i got on the flat at the bottom of the hill ( this was right near the end of the drive in the morning), absolutely no brakes at all, not even the slightest bit of stop if i pump or anything.

so i parked mini in a place in the morning and then it got checked on.

when i came back after work, the brakes were still not working at all. the bloke says to pass adjust the brakes and get the brake lights to work. but the lights do work, logically theyd come on when there is the first hint of resistance on the car, however, since there were no brakes at all, it makes sense that the lights wouldnt come on? so the dont.

so i drove the 20 kays home, at not much more than 50 k's the entire way using the handbrake whenever, and pulling whenever i saw a vehicle coming in the distance behind me.

it was a shocker and i couldnt belive it. i was almost going to ring mother up and say, okkher i cant drive like this, come and get me. but i suppose it was alright, you just have to be super aware of the very wide surroundings, and i was and there was no problems.

but when i drive up a hill ( its a steep hill, 3rd gear 60 kays job) with the accelerator flat, sitting on a constant speed, where it isnt going to drop off or increase, i started hammering the brakes, and just sitting on it the whole way, cause id be able to feel anything going up the hill, but there is nothing at all.

so thats funny, but why did it do it? From brakes to no brakes at all in about 3 seconds?

good blah blah blah
end story for now

the problem is EVERYONE is in Hobart
im going to be there in about half a year :?: and there is a recognised mini mechanic down there, and it will be help and maybe kept a bit better then, there are a few people up north west, but i dont know them, no one knows them

i know its real danerous and stupid/ brave - maybe not, but it did take a lot of 'something' cause it was ridiculous.

its just stupid, why would they just instantly go to nothing? cause what i had before, that was basically on the floor, well they did something, but now it doesnt work

1) there is no more brake fuild
2) one of the brake lines has split
3) one of the brake wheel cylinders has popped and leaking fluid
4) the master cylinder is knackered
5) one of the brake pipes has snapped

some or all of the above!

Just go buy a Leyland black book and start diagnosing what the problem is. I bet it something very obvious...

number 1 is wrong.
2-3 5 dunno

number 4 Yep

the same bloke who inspected it he taught me about 12 months ago how to adjust the brakes. Whilst doing so he said if you ever want 'good' brakes get that reconditioned/new one.
so i havent  :?
well there he is a guy to do with minis, but hes an old bloke, doesnt work much , and something, its not just as easy as 'doing' it

i have an aftermarket leyland book that i look at, which i say is a heap of crap.

so i will have an inspect tomorrow if it gets warm enough sometime during the day, like abuot 5 degrees 8)

right so i know that the brakes pads dont need adjusting, they rotate just freely as i know they should

i got a bit under the car today, it got about 5, nice and sunny, so i went and had a look. there was nothing that looked 'not good'. not that i would know the first thing about anything.
someone else is going to have to look at it for me, and maybe i dont care about monies anymore :?
