buffing "should" be able to take marks out left by 1500, but all paints are different and some softer and harder, some thicker some thinner etc... colour also plays a big part in what can be buffed out too.

Is the paint fresh? If so then 1500 with soap, then a quick rub with 2000 and soap will give best results.. Then buff away, watch out for those roof gutters.

full detail inside and out for sedans are usually on the high side of $160, but for ausmini members the going rate is $120 cash

This includes engine degrees, outside washed, machined buffed & hand polished, wheels and all glass cleaned, seats & carpets shampoed, door jams cleaned, dash cleaned and deodorized. Basically get the car looking as new as possible in around 3 hours.
