I don't know how widespread this is, but the mother of a kid at the Kindergarten our daughter goes to was telling me about "mini punches". Apprently kids, whenever they see a mini, punch their mates and say "Mini punch". Kind of a cool trend, but I apologise in advance for all the kids that come home with bruises on their arms from me driving by in our Mk II :)

My brother came home from school with a practice whereby once you farted, anyone else could hit you as many times as they wanted, until you said "Badger" and whistled twice. Obviously it's kinda funny to fart, and saying badger is no problem but whistling when you're laughing is nearly impossible, esp. when your mates are walloping you.

Then years later, I was working on a skifield and another guy farted, said "badger" and whistled twice so it must have been fairly widespread in NZ at least.

i've never heard of punch mini, but would be pretty cool, will have to try it, but it'll be pretty hard to punch my passengers, wave to the mini, and drive mine at the same time... also when we did the punch buggy thing there were ALOT more VW's on the road then mini's :(
