Well, I have found part of one of these, not sure if its for a small-bore of large bore, but its a bit that actually goes on the undeside of the thermostat housing, (ie. need 2 gaskets). But that doesn't seem right, I mean there is a simple Cooper S bracket which appears to bolt directly to the top of the housing. So, anyone got some pics so I could maybe make one up??

are you talking about the radiator bracket thet bolts to the top of the thermostat housing.
I have them in sainless steel, i usually have them lazer cut with the word mini in them but these ones i still have are blank so you can write what you want or just buff them up to look like chrome.
PM me if youwant one as i will be in my workshop taday and leave to come over to oz wednesday morning and wont be checking my messages after tonight.
$10 its yours brand new never fitted. Ill be at the dyno day and then you dont have to pay for postage.

Rampage,,,there`s an engine steady bar braket that goes under the thermostat hsg,,,

& then there`s a top radiator braket that goes ontop of the thermostat hsg

There are about 6 different types of top radiator brks avaliable--->

early small bore

early 1275 (Cooper S)

clubman small bore

1275GT type

Leyland mini late small bore

& 1275LS/1275Moke type

all of these fit ontop of the thermostat hsg,,,,"""BUT""" there`s 3 different thermostat housings too

early small & big bore type

late small bore

then the late 1275 one

---------------------------------------------------------

& then there`s the 2 different engine steady bar brkts,,,basically there`s the small bore type,,,, & then the 1275 type, both of these fit "UNDER" the thermostat hsg

sorry if it`s confusing but thems the facts

you`ll need to make sure you have all the right bits to go together to make it all pretty again

some people swap out the thermostat housing & radiator & top rad brkt from the later cars & fit the early hsg, radiator & top braket into their late car,,,,it will still work but will leave quite a gap fraom the outside edge of the radiator to the inner guard cowl panel

the later type top rad braket won`t fit into an early car without re-drilling the holes to make it sit shorter

do you understand?,,,sorry i havn`t got any pis tho

if you came around here i could show you all the differences, but i guess you live no where near me :-)

OK, well I've got a brand new small-bore thermostat housing, and the only bracket I have is the engine steady bracket by the sounds of it. I'll get some pics at lunch time, then maybe you can tell me what I need.

I have 4 available so any one else want one ill pack them to bring over.
Also these fit the regular 1098 and 998 small bore engine where the thermostat mount and water pipe comes off the front of the head not the back to the radiator.
cheers guys will probably cost me more that that to bring thelot over but i know you will all look after me while im there, (normally sell for $40 with the lazer cuitting) so $10 aussie dollars seems very fair.
cheers
see you all this weekend.
sorry mat unless you coming down we wont get the chance to catch up.
same as dodge.
