Curfew?? What curfew?? I think i missed something here...

IMO :

1. all city limits should be 50 where there is a footpath next to the road, 80 on city expressways and 110 elsewhere.

2. Highways should not have 2 direction traffic on em. Get rid of the oncoming traffic and less people will die.

3. There should be no parking on main roads at all. Get rid of those freakin obstacles. FFS, People cant parallel park, so why make em do it on main roads????

3. People buy 4WD's so that they can see over traffic, and do 60 over speed humps. I should know.... every one of my rellies does it

4. My brother has a 4WD and an ABN. He doesnt have a business, just a registered business name and an ABN. He's a sales rep. And he likes to tailgate.

Thats my 2 cents.

Don't tar all 4WD drivers with the same brush. Just like there are bad P-plate drivers that give them all a bad name, there are bad 4WD drivers that give the rest a bad name. Same goes for truckies

I have a 4WD becuase we USE it as a 4WD - offroad and towing a Caravan or car trailer.

What amazes me is the way the traffic respects a 4WD more than a Mini. We need to break the "I'm bigger than you so I can intimidate you" mentality first. Basic respect for other drivers needs to come back. Until then the latte set will still have their Toorak Tractors and give real 4WDers a bad name. :x

Well you P platers on the mainland have it good i think
My understanding is that you can go 100km/h where as we can only go 80km/h hour.
This a real bugger on old narrow country roads on wet day, with huge trucks tearing up behind me who have no hope of slowing down for me
It scares me always, so if i ask for raod conditions for p platers to change i want my speed limit increaded.
But that won't ever happen

Two words - LANE DISCIPLINE

The europeans can do it with 4 lane dual carriageways. australians cannot. sad fact.

In the old dart i NEVER saw a truck in the right lane on the M1, M40, M25 etc, and people moved out of the middle lane once they had finished passing the vehicle in the left lane.

People here just can't get the idea that a lane is a dynamic concept. You need to be in a different lane under certain circumstances, and those circumstances are constantly changing. Why don't we train people, and test them on this basic principle?

My opinion on this subject is free - and it is worth it

If the lane thing is a problem, this is the one i always get.

IF i happen to be in the right hand lane, at any time, passing a car (on suburban streets), and someone is close behind me, i usually drive WELL PAST the car i am passing before i change back to the left lane ( i dont want to cut that car off...). The people following me are usually SO impatient that they squeeze between me and the car i just passed.....

Another second later and i was going to get out of the way, but NOOOOO, they're in a hurry it seems.... in a hurry to get to the next set of lights....

Now picture this.... me being over 6 foot tall, skin headed, ADIDAS wearing, leb/wog-lookin kinda guy, likes to STARE at people who pass me after tailgating.... especially when i pull up next to them at the next set of lights.... I pull up REAL close, turn the music right down, left hand on top of the steering wheel, right elbow on the drivers door, then stare...

Pity i cant fight.....
