Hiya guys, I finally got the shits with waiting for a reply from Minispares about a certain component and just ordered the lot.

I've got the receipt printed out, but they say they email ya for confirmation and postage costs before they ship, so ya know how much it's gonna cost all up. Havent received an email or had my credit card charged yet(three days since the order)

Can anyone out there that's ordered from Minispares, gimme an idea on how slow these pom's really are?????

I have placed many orders with them and normally get a response within 48 hours
However the last order I placed using there ew web site I did not so I emailed [email protected] and they followed it up and confirmed it within 12 hours.
I recieved my goodies 8 days later. But as everyone else has said I have never been advised on the postage costs prior to shipping.

I would still recomend them over Somerford they took 2 weeks to get back to me and then it took about 3 weeks for the goods to arrive. Then I had to go down the post office to get them!

I'm about to order some 1.5:1 roller tip rockers - probably call uk tonight and get it going. Minisport is UKP136 ex-vat and mini spares is UKP147 so I'll probably go the minisport's unless there a good reason to go with the others.
questions:
1. do we pay ex-vat or inc-vat prices? I'd have assumed ex, but the girl at northern mini parts insisted i'd have to pay inc-vat even ordering over the web.
2. any local suppliers likely to be cheaper than UK? best price i've had is $560 from NMP in melb.
3. how much have you paid for postage for this type of item from UK?

TIA
Geoff

1. Yes, we are VAT exempt for export..
2.NO!
3. Last set of FORGED 1.5s I got cost me about $350 landed at my door. I got done for duty & GST by UPS...
Ask them to POST it!

ps. If you don't want to spend this much $$$ or more, I believe Toyota Corolla RWD 1.3L `hi-cam' rockers can be adapted, with a bit of work. Need to make new posts etc.
My next project.... 8)

I rebuilt a 1380 race motor recently that had 'em. :P

I think it sucks, compared to the old one. Takes pages of scrolling to find what you want. Not enough items per page...
And yeah they stuffed my password too- I finally got in, but next time it locked me out again. Emailed them, twice, heard nothing.
F*** 'em, I'll shop elsewhere from now on, or get a catalog & use the fax again....
As for the forum  ... I'll stick with the MM one.

Doc, I found the dirty little secret is to go the old MiniMania website. Find yer part like ya used to, then put the part number into the new Minispares search. Worked for me. Lets ya compare UK v US prices too. That's why I went Minispares in the end, Minimania SHAFTS ya

Yeah forget MiniMania unless it's for race goodies that they make themselves, and MS don't sell.
Trawl the MM site and look for their special US made stuff- some is good kit! :P

Just received an email today from Minispares, quoting me about 30 pounds for shipping, and asking me to reply within four days or the order would be VOID.

Hmmmm........ So if they dont reply to our emails, we dont have to pay???
