Having the projections no them give them more contact surface area which probably means they'll be less likely to spin on the flange but I have NFI how they will come off now that the two bearings are pressed hard up against each other.

The drive flange will pull out as normal. Then get a thru-tang screwdriver in there at an angle, and give it a tap with a BFH, work your way around it. The bearings will come out OK. :wink:

Well the car is back on the ground with brakes bled and ready to rock.

I could only get the drive flange locking nuts done up barely tight with the wheels off the ground. I'm going to go at it with a long breaker bar now. I'm thinking just make it as tight as I can without breaking the bar?

Don't make the drive flange nuts TOO tight, with drum brake CVs. 60Lb/ft torque, if you can borrow a wrench.
Run it for a month then recheck them.

OTOH, DISC brake ones are 150+ but have bigger threads and nuts. :wink:

hey, sorry about bring back the dead but i would like to know how tight i should do up my rear wheels bearing nut. what torque is it.

60 lb/ft for drums
BLOODY TIGHT for discs

He wants to know the rear hub nuts..
But yeah, they are 60lb/ft too, and tighten to next pin hole... according to my Black Book manual.. :wink:
