Hi,
Does anybody know what to look at when identifying a geniune Mark 2 Cooper S gearbox. There is the 22G1128 cast number what else is there to look for.

3.44:1 diff ratio, Diff output flanges to suit Hardy Spicer needle roller inner unis, 1st motion shaft and laygear are different, all other gear box parts are the same as a non S box including the common 4 synchro case. If it's a genuine Mk2 S case then the original engine number 9FXEY etc should be stamped in the area below the starter motor on a raised boss on the front of the case.
