The shroud on my car has been modified so that if the bottom radiator hose goes "west", it's dead easy to get to.

Picture this - remove the top half of the shroud; now look at the hassles you would have loosening that bottom hose clip because it's kinda within the shroud!!! If you take to the shroud with the old tin snips and cut off the section around the bottom clip - bingo - dead easy to get to and you dont lose any of the cooling "guts" from the fan.

It's also nice and easy to replace the radiator if you have to because you dont have to bother with two of those stupid little screws that hold the two halves of the shroud together - the "fiddly" ones that you cant get to if you have sausage fingers like mine

Anyway, just thought I'd throw that in seeing as we're talking about "cooling" and taking your radiator out 5 times, that would be 2 of those little screws times 5 that you wouldnt have had to do and hurt your knuckles and bled all over your mini :!:

Cheers :)
