the wires i have are the following..:
Headlight/parker switch
**one single red wire
**2 red wires same guage as above, that run into the one insulated connecter
**one thich brown
**one thick blu

Wiper switch
black with light green trace
red with light green trace
and black i think (could possibly be another dark color)

all wires are the original wires, no extras... was meant to be a straight forward job!!

These wire connections are from the OZ w/shop manual TP832 1971wiring diagrams for a Mini K
Lighting Switch
2 Red wires terminal7 - lighting sw to splice 1/ body junction to light sw
1 Blue wire terminal 8 - lighting sw to dip sw
1 brown wire terminal 4 - lighting sw to ignition sw (main incoming supply to light sw and ignition sw/ignition ON circuits)
1 Red wire terminal 1 - lighting sw to main junction for tail lights, parkers and instrument lights

Wiper Sw
1 Green/yellow wire terminal 8 - wiper sw to wiper motor
1 Black wire terminal 6 - wiper sw to dash earth
1 Black/green wire terminal 1 - wiper sw to wiper motor

The wiper switch colours are not consistent with your colours for the green yellow wire so maybe ?????? the red/green wire was replaced with a green/yellow wire (by BMC). My S has the later type wiper motor and it uses red/green wire as well. But I can't pull the dash sw panel out to check at present.

The light sw connections seem to be the same but the wiper sw???
According to the Lucas wiring colour guide (do a google search for Lucas wiring colours) green/yellow is usually associated with heater motor circuits. You haven't mixed up some of the wires? You haven't got a green/red wire attached to the ON side of the ignition sw?
At least this may give you a start

Ron, thankyou very much!

i'll go and give it a whirl now.. funny u mention the heater part... i have the clubman heater(std) in mine and havnt got any switches for it... where was the heater swictch located on the mini K's?

ive got 2 holes in the dash... i assumed they where for wiper switch and headlites...

do you.. or anyone else out there have a pic of a mini k interior/dash/switch locations? im also buggered if i can find where the pull cables/vent adjustments are meant to go for the heater too... the outer cables r still there, just dont know where they wer mounted :s

thanx again!

Cam,
Found another wiring diag for a late model Mini1100 and van with the right colours.
Black/Green wire to wiper sw terminal 5
Red/Green wire to wipersw terminal 4
Black wire to wiper sw terminal 2
Checked my car which has the later 12AUW wiper motot but with generator (MK1.5) and it uses solid red and solid black wires to the sw so not much use.
This looks more promising but the usual disclaimer.
