Well I've done it! Drove to melbourne and back in 2 days to pick up some mini engines! Started out 7am saturday, got back just now (midnight sunday) and I faired well! (considering i drove 1700kms!!)
Scored 1 good 1100S block with main caps, a complete remote box, remote arm with gearshift still intact, a 1100S crank in bling bling condition - uncracked hopefully, 2 complete 12G940 heads with springs, valves and all still attached, and few other ods and ends as well as...
A whole 1100S motor which has got a 2inch hole out the side of cylinder 4 (thrown a rod) and several other holes as the rods went! it's quite something lol. Have not seen such a huge hole in an engine since I saw me mate's Escort after he did 1 rev too many!

I am not sure what the status of this one will be, looks like complete toast. I'm taking it to the Good Doctor tommorrow for diagnosis (and to borrow his fly wheel puller

)
Here's hoping that the crank is good although by the looks of it it's probably toast. I am also hoping the cam, end caps, clutch and gearbox is still ok. The gearbox housing also looks rooted, but don't stress it's only a rod change box!
Anyway should be fun tommorrow pulling her apart to see how it's busted a hole in itself
