so to all that dont know the specs
998cc (60 thou over 1060cc)
1.5 carb
997 cooper cam
everything else standard...

so what should the timing be? standard? or modified to cope with the new cam???

I'd start at 7*BTDC (check with vac pipe off), then advance it until it runs best. Depends on many things- cam, C/R, head shape, mech advance curve in dizzy, etc etc. Timing correctly for power is more important than getting it to spec at idle.

mine doesnt have a vac pipe on distributor...but i hear what your saying, thanks doc :wink:
