ahhhh....you can never please everyone!

IMO, I think us NSW people (and ex-NSW people!) just whinge the best of any Aussies, so that's why you get these outbursts about MCC NSW.

Everyone expects different outcomes from the same things, some are pleased, some are not.

Who gives a f**k which state has whatever club. Pitching QLD and VIC clubs against a NSW club is really silly. They are miles appart in distance, so why not be miles appart in offerings. If you really want to move state because of ANY car club  go for it!

Final word - MCC NSW website is an excellent site, compared to some of you other club sites.....

I've stayed out of this stoush as I'm not a member, but I'll say several ex-members of MCC NSW are among the `group' I hang with known as MDC (NSW) (as in `Mini Drinkers Club') but we drive, not drink..
We met up on the MM/MS board.
Some of you guys met us at Wakefield Pk.
No it's NOT a Club, yet. But we do have track days at Wakefield Pk and have been known to go for drives on the twisty roads around Sydney.

IMO, joining a club is a bit like getting married. It's more fun & games when you're not married..
so kev wats the chances of coming up with sum sort of arrangement wen mini monaro comes back to aus?

nothing i have said is out of place, you ARE in the UK are you not? Your opinion is your own, i don't agree, and i will continue to have an informed opinion. As i have said at the end of each of my posts you enjoy your new club. I will now go and enjoy what i know for a fact is a good club. And not get agro and start calling people names. Not at all needed.

Enjoy your new club.

I think you have made your point and i don't see any need to continue this thread.

Cheers

Aaron

My only issue with the Mini Car Club of NSW when I was living in Sydney (for 8 years.. there is no God..back in Melbourne now) was the b*stard dealer from the Northern Beaches who has a nasty habit of dodgy work, ripping people off and somehow getting away with it. I commissioned a mini from him for $9500. For that price I got a shell, clubman with a morris front end, set of 13'wheels but everything else was bog second hand. Nothing else was done to the car. Six months later, rust under the paint work on top of the guard. And he had no interest in fixing it. And unfortunately it was ony AFTER I'd handed my cash over that everyone I met said I shouldn't have done it. Thus, as he was a member of the club, I never joined. It's a pity I left Sydney before I could meet he and his offspring in a dark alley.

That particular dealer has absolutley no affiliations with the club whatsoever. And as far as i know never did. Him being a member doesn't make him a recomended supplier and in this case most new members are let known that they should tread carefully in dealing with them.

Unfortunatly there are a number of not so trustworthy dealers in sydney. Not much you can do though. I myself was stung by them and a few others around town, until i met more mini owners and became aware of who was good and who isn't. I have to say that was an expensive way to learn.. Bummer

Cheers

Well, got my little $500 project of Lindsay at Pistons Auto. He was great when I was younger with my first mini and I have a lot of time for him now. Not saying he's God, but he did some thoroughly decent things for me when I was a struggling student. And it was good to see him again.

Now to find that second job for the parts.. Ausdirect anyone?
