Steve was checking Slidey Hubnut and changing steering wheels (Thanks Marvin  ), and after checking the hubnut he put the wheel back on, and then let Slidey off the jack, and then was tightening the wheel nuts using a bit too much force, and THEN...........

It was also discovered whilst trying to pilfer a wheel stud off striped that one of mine was bent..... At least SG knows where to buy them, how much they are and how to fit the new one. Well i hope he does.

Harley...the flutes go into the hub when you drift or press the wheel studs in.....

Oh Dear....they dont need very much force at all....maybe it had been over rattle gunned before and it was just waiting to let go....

I think it was the GT Falcons at Bathurst that were very sensitive to the torque applied if the wheels were to stay on....somehere around 20 ft/lb was used to torque the nuts....

Then of course there was the Alfa Romeo fiasco...but thats another story...

It was Whitestriped's fault..... bugger him  ..... hahahahah kidding my stupidity.

Apparently 40lbs/ft is the setting via torque wrench, yes Whitestriped i have fitted them, and they are $4.90 each new
