but there is a couple that like to abuse their power.....

i still say police dont have enough power though.....

that crap in macquarie fields...the riots and stuff, the police just had to stand their and cop all the crap being thrown at them!!!

i would have loved to have beat the daylights out of some of those kids,

on their own they are pussy's, in a gang they are a pack of lions!

(they should all be deported to a refugee island or something like that!)

blake

There's nothing wrong with the cops

It's 1 point per plate not displayed...plus 1 extra point for double demerits, the points only double for speeding, seatbelt and helmet offences.. ;)

If your car is roadworthy, what's one yearly inspection? I'm all for it.

long story but here goes.. didn't have a license in the first place, drove around for two years on my L's, was pulled oevr three times for random breath tests and once for speeding, got let off with a warning with the speeding offence (didnt check my license thankfully) and never asked for my license during RBT's. Thought I was smarter than the cops seeing as they never asked for my license. One late night, dropping my bro off at a party and on the way to work, run a red light (questionable, but the bike cop was right there so couldn't argue). Pay fine for running the red light, get let off with a warning about having no L's but still lose points. Eventually got my P's not long after this happened.

Then I go to pick up my bro from work one day, i get caught on a speed camera, twice... in a half hour period two streets away from my place, going to pick him up, and on the way back, great luck. So i lost the few points off my just acquired P's. Choice time, get sent a letetr saying I've lost all points and I can choose a six month suspension or one year good behaviour. I choose the suspension as I barely drove the car during that period.

Stupidly, I did drive a few times, local area to pickup things for friends and family and see the girlfriend. A totally random license check (was not speeding at the time or drink driving) and I get pulled over. Oh sir, you realise you are suspended from driving and have no license? yeap... Notice to appear in court. Extended the 6 month inital suspension to 1 year. Fantastic.

I accept it and don't drive for at least 4 months, then on the ONLY time I drive during this period an emergency run to my girls place due to her having family troubles, you guessed it pulled over, another freaken random license check, again, not speeding and not drink driving. Told to appear in court again. Same judge, represented myself and about to tell why I drove under my suspension, judge cuts me off at the first two words and hands down a $600 fine and 2 year ban, drive again and get caught and face imprisonment of 3 months.

Been waiting 2 years since then.. get license back tomorrow! Boy have I learnt my lesson. I feel that my punishment was a bit too harsh, but understand why seeing as I defied a court order and two suspensions and drove without a license which means no insurance of aything was to happen. I still get damn annoyed when I see a DRUNK driver or a SPEEDER has killed a person and gets off with a 6 month driving ban and a very short prison sentence or a ban of just a year. I think the system is a little screwy that way but otherwise I accept what happened and make a note now to tell anyone who brags about evading the law in anyway how things catch up with you. I take the two years I drove without a license, and two year ban as karma and things being square.

Now apologies for that long winded telling... and may everyone learn something from this!
