ok,,,well,,,First things first--->CAMS are renounded for this sort of thing, you can bet your left testicle that they`ll do other stuff similar to this in the next few years to all sorts of other classes & categorys too,,,a bit like F1 & the ,so called """taming down""" of their speeds & grip factors to slow down the pace, For "safety reasons" only a few years ago,,, only to find that all the teams have "Up`ed" the anty & gone faster anyways,,, think back to the good old days of Group "B" rallying,,,yeah!!!, those were the days, fire breathing 4x4 full house forest weapons that were starting to become spectator missiles, they stoped them & now the WRC cars are faster than them.
I can only assume that my Targa Tassie car will still be legal, with a few slight mods, but maybe not my new car

i`ll look into it further as i`m not going to change anything "major" just to appease the likes of CAMS,,,just like Octagon says, 40% of the field might just pull out of the event.
& Toddy Wilkes & his twin turbo Chook-lotto,,,well,,,sad story, i know heaps of guys that knew him well,,,i personally didn`t meet the guy, but he obviously knew his stuff & had a strong passion for it all,,,just that the organisers of the even in question, """SHOULD""" have known better than to have a finish line blocked with a wall of concrete, before i actually saw the footage of the crash, i knew what was about to occur,,,stupid waste of a brilliant life,,,Dam i wish there were more people with quallity foresight to run motorsport events, accidents like this would never have happened, sad,,,very F`ken sad!!!
But,,,i don`t believe that Todds crash had anything to do with CAMS`s decision to slow down the """Targa Tassie""" cars , i reckon it`s to do with the absolute carnage/damage/crash & burn/Kaos & lost of life that is often the case in Targa Tassie Rallys nearly every event,,,people go into the event thinking that they are bullet proof & that everything is so well organised & that they are all safe & sound,,,well,,,tell that to the people who are now dead or maimed from major stacks at Targa, & usually the result of """OVER DRIVING""" more than over powered cars,,,simple as that!!!!!!!! Thems the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It`s a very dangerous event,,,that place can bite & bite real hard,,,i even hit the mountain on Mt Arrowsmith stage myself,,,at about 140kms per hour, very lucky to escape with barely a scratch on the car,,,totally amazing!!!, but it was also the result of me over driving trying to overtake a red Mazda RX7 that i`d been chasing down for over 15mins at well over 100mph most of the way,,,awsome experience i can tell you,,,& very glad to have experienced it,,,F`ken AWSOME <I`m still buzzing from it!!!!!!!!...but it`s all to easy to become """Velocitized""" (accustomed to huge speeds & not realize how tight, off camber/bumpy & wet the very next corner could be)
so,,,there you go,,,i do believe that CAMS & other motorsport governing bodys will continue to change the rules to keep safety factors as a major priority (it`s called "Common Sense"), i do believe that there will be nothing we can do about it, but go with the flow, & i do blieve that Todds crash is basically just one of the instances that have caused the review of these rules right across the board, but not directly related to the Targa Tassie rules change, they are un-to themselves there, allways have been & allways will be,,,all the tarmac Targa rallys will soon have equalised rules & regs, right across the board sooner or later,,,Targa NZ will become the same as Targa Tassie in relation to these rule changes i`m sure.
hope i havn`t bored you all to sleep
dribble over, now get back to work
