Love that movie - ESPECIALLY that scene.
We tried to get that shown at our drive-in night. Unfortunately they'd only let us pick one out of two so we had to pick the Italian Job naturally. :?

pfft, BINI's

The original Italian Job was soooooo bad!!!! NOTHING good in that film other than watching minis.....

Its just not a chicks movie, period. The red car in the begining is the superlative Lamborghini Muira (no aircon there), and this sets the pase for a 90 odd minute orgy of like the wettest dreams for every motor head from the 60's or today's classic car lover. There's a DB4, a couple of E types chucked it, I think some of those Ferrari engined Fiats and off course the Cooper Ss.

You just gotta understand that the movie is all about British patriotic car loving and is solely an opportunity to show really cool cars of the dying british motor empire, doing really cool stuff in really cool settings. And as such its great and does its job - its a classic - and for the same reason the new italian job, just like its new subject, is nothing to write home about.

But if you dont get a h'on every time you see a Muira or an E-type then obviously the original will be crap to you too.
