Definitely a 1275 Standard wth Automatic (at least originally). Depending on the year it was produced otherwise it might mean it was a metro engine. Anyone?

After a bit of searching on the net, I have found out that the 12H706 engine number is from a 1275GT with alternator, negative earth, mechanical fuel pump and rod change gearbox....

So does that mean it's an Ozzy or Pommie 1275GT? Didn't the pommie GT's use a 1300 block?

I've got a 12H709 in Barney too. It's an early A+ motor listed as from a UK 1275GT.
I `suspect' the very last of the Mokes got 'em fitted here- I was told mine came out of a Moke too..
"Verrrry Interrrrrestinggg" as they used to say on `Laugh In' (old joke, for 9YaTaH's benefit..)
