If that means I'm not a fat bastard, then you're correct!

Does yours have a headrest Nuclear?

such anger lol, i only wanted some help and advice, thanks pedro for the offer but for the wee bit extra i would go for new ones, as i can try them out in shop and not really needing them this minute, as for comfort I will say im a fatter bloke then most but no way over weight, and have sat in these for many longs journeys in UK, hence the reason i want a set, but as in Mini life each to there own

no they dont. that may be why yours are uncomfortable... they would need more bracing in the middle of the chair to support the head rest.... :?:

I didn't make any offers....????

I think that mighta been nuclearmini.

Nuclear: You're spot on with the headrest observation. They extra bracing inside is what makes them so uncomfortable.....but I wouldn't run buckets in a mini without a headrest so I didn't even consider the normal buckets.

I'm now looking for some 70s sports buckets to retrim.

I've got the CUBs - mainly because they are identical to the original Speedwell seat that Hopkirk et al used in the 60's. I ordered it with the headrests but Minispares sent the ones without and since you cant just add a headrest to the sandard seat I just kept the normal ones - and really the Cobra headrests are kinda bulky and ugly.

They look great imho very authentic, and are much more supportive than the standard mini seats - though even the classics are far more supportive still and they are not even in the league of any highback bucket seats (apart from some of the horrible autotechnica ones). Plus they are very low and at 189cm whiplash is a real possibility.

They are pretty comfortable and I dont share the general dislike for the Cobra frames (though ugly and loosing paint from day 1) just remove the plastic legs and put some steel plate at rear contact points instead. You'll still get a sweaty arse and a sore back after a few hours on the motorway but I like this raw motoring as much as I like the inevitable hearing loss and petrol fume inhalation you'd experience in my car. Plus back in the day people would win rallies on standard bench seats ala MGTC.
