Picked up some Mini door handles at the Geelong swap meet this morning, and there were some metal inside door handles.

I've never seen them before. When or on what model were they used?

They are indentical to normal Mini ones, but without the little dot thinga. There were also a couple of window winders that had no dots, too. 8)

Here you see the metal handle along side a normal one.

The metal door and window winder handles were sold in the early 70's by BMC dealers as an accessory.
Very popular at the time till safety issues caused them to be removed from sale.
Imagine being in an accident and yr leg hitting a steel handle rather than the orig plastic one !

Regards
Greg

Mini Ha-Ha does too (door handles). I got them in some Mini junk, painted & fitted 'em..
Might turn them 180* though, before they spear me!

yea interesting comment on the safety aspect!

Pops ones are facing away from the passenger/driver.

being a roundy noob, I thought that was the norm.
