Gaf now you just gotta get yourself some safety glasses that you can see through.

But these wire brushes are great - its amazing what a nice, shiny finish you can get just with the brushes, without polishing, on alloy and steel. And they save you from getting high on paint stripper fumes.

But true about the wire in the foot - I had one dig pretty deep - Now after 4 applications of liquid nitrogen to the side of my foot (really painful) to freeze out the ensuing infection (which was even more painful), I always wear shoes in the garage.

Never use petrol, never. Ever. It is the most dangerous thing this side of nitro-glycerine you could use. Its low flash point and high burning temp means you will burst into flames. Use kero or something else, but never petrol. You will go up so fast you won't have time to reach for the fire extinguisher that everyone has mounted on the wall of their garage.

Seriously, don't use petrol. And do get a fire extinguisher. Mine cost about NZ$80 (so AUS$2  ) and bought a hell of a lot more than that in peace of mind.
