Hey everyone!

My mums selling some of my dads junk (well i wouldnt call it junk but yeah..) and theres some guys interested in some of our minis. They're after them for parts cars and are offering like $300 kind of thing.

One that they're interested in, is a brown 79 clubman that we got after someone hit it in the front. They're after it for parts and AFAIK the car was driven until it got hit. The engine doesn't run but we've never really bothered to get it going. The interior on the other hand is virtually perfect except for grass seeds/something thats stuck in the carpet. So what i'm asking you guys is what is this worth?

What are complete parts cars worth? (They're also after some of our other minis)

Oh you can see my mums mini behind the rangie in this pic ;)

If it is a 79 clubby (wouldn't it be 78?) I'd say a bit only if it is all original and in good nick.
I know a guy on here recently had his car that looked the same stolen and stripped.
Maybe he'd be interested?

Sorry man, i'm located in gippsland, 3hrs east of melbourne :-\

harley: could possibly be a 78 i'm not sure. I think its a 79 and the one we have with the sunroof and rusted out ass is a 78.. but am going home tonight to check it all out.
I'm open to pretty much anything atm just I'm aware of the quality of the interior - ie when i get around to building one i'll want an interior like it (but that wont be for years and years to come.. have an 84 trans am :-P)

bromley: i agree with ya there :)

Let me know what ya got, i'm interested in a bit of stuff. Don't sell for $300, it's more a fixer than a parts car! Hate to see Mini's like that sold for parts! My girfriend (adeee on here) is looking for a Mini to fix up and get on the road, so let me know what ya got. 8)

well my dad used to have them back in the day in his 20's ex racing coopers that had no power till 4000rpm..

Now we have lots of minis..

mums one.. we used to hillclimb it a bit and rally. used to have a 1310 with a hot cam in it until it snapped the crank. (mum used to drive it to work)

my sisters one the 78 with the sunroof and tinted windows.. now rusting out.. aftermarket sunroof that is!

Brown one - bought off the side of the road in town after it got pinned against a lightpole by a landcruiser.

old hillclimb mini - no interior, just rebuilt subframes/suspension with an 1100 with cam, weber and morris 1100 diff. Now rusted out, running gear supposed to be transplanted into ..

A rolling clubman body - sittin in the shed waiting for transplant then the old hillclimb mini can be scrapped.

A MINT red cluman with electric windows.. mum/dad paid $600 for it and drove it home and its been in the shed since i was in grade 4 (i'm 19 now).

A half built rally car... Is a NICE round nose shell.. was put on a backyard rotisserie .. completely stripped back to metal, rust fixed. Freshly painted, new carpet and half built rally dash... now doing nothing in the shed.

A rusted out old clubman shell on trailer waiting to goto tip...

A body sitting on pavers in our car port that was made out of 2 bodies.. cut diagonally in half looking at the front and mig welded back together.. even has a front end sitting there.. was gonna have a turbocharged corolla engine dropped in for hillclimbing.. :-\

We have shiteloads of panels, bits and engines/geraboxes laying around (most engines pulled apart...) .. have a 1275 with no compression on 1 cylinder sitting there (that i want to use one day).

SO much stuff but now that my dads gone (pissed off to another country (oh well i scored a damaged 84 trans am)) mums trying to clean up a bit..

Mini's are fun though.. i'd prefer that mum left it all there so i could tool around with it one day...

if the bodie is not to twisted and it is only front damage the car would be worth between 500 to 800
tell the guy he is dreaming at 300
but i would keep it and replace the front panles

Yeah as far as we know its fine. I mean it was pinned in front of the front wheel.. like the front is farked. It still drives fine. Originally the plan was to just whack a new front on it, paint it up, clean it up a bit and sell it.

As these cars just keep getting older am i right assuming the parts also are just getting harder to get (especially interior bits) and increasing in value?

Assuming the damage is only panel damage, no mechanical damage. Then if you have a welder freind, as set of new front panels is about $500, because I've just done mine. And by the looks of going prices for complete going mini's, you should get anywhere from $1500-$2000 on!
So, I'd say replace the front end first, then sell. Oh, you would have to put paint on top of that, but I wouldn't think it would be that expensive if you have people in the know.
