You know how you can get all those nice chrome door handles and window winders for UK minis. Would they fit on auzzie ones? Clubmans in particular. or is there any others that you can get that are the same sort of deal but do fit? Basically want window winders as the bastards seem to snap every so often.

If you want metal ones to fit a mini, take one of yours to a wrecker and find another car with the same fitting, but in metal. From memory it needs to have a square hole in the winder, to slide onto the mechanism.

You could spend a week searching every single car in the wrecker to find the right one. So does anyone have any idea of what cars would have the right stuff? Aren't the shafts square with rounded edges? The hole is too isn't it? So if it was just square wouldn't it slip a little in the hole if the shaft was a little small and if it was too big then wouldn't it just not fit? Maybe mine are just worn, but I thought they were square with rounded edges.

Anyone got some good window winders off another car that are good? For a Clubby

Some Morris 1100 or variants had the same shape window and door handles as a Mini in CHROMED METAL. Fits straight on.

Rumour is that it was for a few months of production or some special model only (Vanden Plas, MG, Riley, Wolseley?). I've only ever seen two sets. :(

Why does everything good that might help out always have to be put on special things that make it as hard as crap to find. Probably send the price up a bit as well.

Let us all know how you go at the wreckers Jam. I might have to go check out repco as well and see if they have any good ones that will fit and not look poxy. Just hate having the plastic ones snap...can hurt quiet a lot when you stab yourself on one of them.

My Mini has a set of the Chromed metal ones. I painted them black- too much Bling...
They used to be quite common.

So what do these morris minor ones look like? can't say I have ever seen them before.
Don't happen to know what year/model they come off?
Only want the winders so that won't add much bling at all. At least they won't snap...well they shouldn't.

I bought a complete set of winders and door openers from Mini Spares I think, they seem like they are machined out of stainless, quite good quality. They werent cheap though, cost me $400 for the set of 4. Have the square fitting so the fit straighto onto minis, the winders are 3 seperate pieces, the openers are 2 pieces, screwed together with allen keys.
