the ad does say fixed 'positons' and pic shows an adjuster rail so i'd guess they adjust!

carefull fellas. Often (most states) require a engineer to sign off on them and this will often require the seets to meet ADR. They are cheap because they haven't passed ADR standards. This means no rego/insurance possibly. So don't think their an awesome bargain if you look into doing it properly, and could cost you a lot more in the long run.

I would love cheap buckets as much as everyone else, but it's not a really massive bargain when you look into rego. and get it in writing from rego to say they are not needed to be engineered if you want to cover yourself.

For $60, just buy three, one to give the engineer so he can do some testing to see if it certifies with ADRs

HPDesign is right, you wouldn't think it but there are insurance companies that would decline to pay out for a simple car park accident because your seats are illegal....

wouldnt a pre 70's mini be exempt from adr's?

Yes. But depending on what state you live in that appears to mean squat (Talking from experience here, trying to get my ADR approved seats okayed for my pre-ADR car).

Someone here recently said that if you read the RTA rules literally, you cannot even fit real Mini seats of another year to your car. Go figure...

ps. Mike if your old seats are for sale I'll buy em.

In Vic you can fit whatever seats you want to cars made before 1969.

Is that only if they have come from a commercially produced car though ? This discussion comes up regularly so it's time we fond out for certain , I'll dredge through the NSW RTA site again and see what I can find , someone else do their states ???

Well , I haven't found anything clear cut on the pre-ADR ruling yet , only mention that they are reccomended to follow the ADR rules from post 1969 . Here is the DOTARS bulletin dealing with fitting seats though ,

I'm waiting on an email to clear up the rest of it (as much as govt departments ever do clear up these things )

that monza autotechina brand, date says 3/02 and the adr part is faded, its hand written as well, the actually seat has fadded too where the sun sits on it in the arvo,
