hey all,
just recently acquired a roundnose shell,
and i'm just wondering what model it is, and what are the differences between the shells.

it has the turn style door handles, im thinking its an 850, because it has a bit of metal that looks a fair bit newer than the rest of the car, screwed into the tunnel further towards the engine, and the gear stick cut-out where the gear stick sits now is off centre.

any ideas,
cheers robbie

Me! Me! Me! I've only got one, although that's more because there's absolutely nowhere else to put a second where I'm living :(

Sliding windows = 61 to 64 (850, cooper or English Cooper S to 1969)
Wind up windows = 65 to 71 (deluxe, K or Aussie Cooper S)
Indents in scuttle Panel for wipers = 68 to 71 (late deluxe, K or S)
No indents = 65 to 67 (deluxe or S)

If there has been a hole for the magic wand that means it may have been an 850, or it could have been the 'Morris Mini Minor' (poverty pack deluxe) or even the Poverty pack K. It by itself is no way to say definitively.

Does it have a full front apron, or cut outs at either end? That's the panel that goes across the car under the bumper at the front. A full apron says 61 to early 64 origin.

All this relies on orginal panels, so again it is an indication.

Pics?

M

There's plenty of room in your street Simon. You're just not trying hard enough.

Yeah, if you like seeing Mini's on their side

Until I get a surveillance camera installed, I'm not parking the one I *do* have out there, let alone a second.
