Motor needs to come out and be taked apart for the second time in two months.

Not sure what has caused it but looks like the rings in #1 and #4 are shot. Pulled head off today, gasket OK. Not visible problams with head. Did blow down test priot to pulling off hear, air getting into crank case.

This time I'm going to do it all myself - no probles I have the two ring spanners required to dismantle a mini.

I'll keep you posted so anyone experiencing the same problem can see what needs to be done.

Have also posted video to show whar REAL blow by looks like LOL/.

No, Graham didn't build it, I did, when we did the gearbox. Not full rebuild though- bores were OK, it got new rings, bearings, oil pump, 286 cam, followers, timing chain, exhaust valves, blah blah.
We ran it up on GR's dyno, got 110HP and 100 lb/ft torque. crap, that was well over a year ago...

dat be true indeed. Though, I am taking a different approach to fixing my exhaust problems.... Fit a turbo  Then you will need a new exhaust anyway!

A year from a high strung A series isnt bad when you consider that te engines are of 50yr old design  Nah, maybe we're all just having shitty luck

I've got a line on some more 1310 Mahle flat top pistons I could drop in, as the bores are still perfect (would just need a quick hone).
This big port head I'm using needs flat top pistons as its chambers are 28cc.

But, I'm then going to start building the 1360/1405 auto block, it will sit nicely on my 4 synchro SCCR box with a 3.76 diff. :P
