Hi all,
I'm just doing a little PR for the upcoming Mini Nationals. A top weekend.........even with the 700km+ drive (not quiet that distance if you're travelling from Melbourne). There are many Ausmini members who'll be going and will reiterate what a great weekend it is.
Some details are as follows.
The township of Hay, located in the Riverina area on the Murrumbidgee River in NSW, half way between Sydney and Adelaide plays host to the ‘Mini Nationals’ held annually on the June long weekend. 2005 is the 38th Hay event. Individuals and families, some being 2nd generation Mini enthusiasts, bring their vehicles from all over Australia to attend this national event.
Say hello to Hay in our own special way as we close off their main street and fill it with the rumbling sounds of 100 plus mini's. The parade ends up in the town centre for our show and shine.
The main event runs on Sunday starting with the Mini Nationals Motorkhana, where it is expected that there will be in excess of one hundred entrants followed by the Hay Heroes Challenge. This event is truly one for the spectators which involves runs of two drivers running at the same time against each other in two identical test lanes. The winner of each run then proceeds to the next round.
The official part of the weekend ends off with the Presentation Party held at the Hay Memorial Hall. Each club attends in their own fancy dress theme with a DJ providing entertainment. Awards are presented for the winners of the weekends events.
Regardless of whether you are a member or not, Hay is an event that must be attended at least once in a Mini enthusiasts lifetime.
