Does anyone have experience with both?

The Dunlop D93J is a lot cheaper than the Yokohama A032R and from what i've heard from most people it performs as well as the A032R but i've read it doesn't last as long?

From people who have experienced both:
Which one lasted longer?
Which one performed better?

Which one lasted longer - D93J (just wearing better but not much in it)
Which one performed better - A032R


Long answer:

I don't think the additional price for the A032R reflects the performance difference. Best BFYB is the Dunlops IMHO BUT the A032R tread pattern looks SOOOOOOOOO much nicer when comparing the two side by side.

Should have said, if it's for a race car then go the A032R's as they do grip better overall.

A032R's also grip better in the wet (due to softer compound I think) but they are both better than Bridgestone SF225's, Falken FK-07E's & Yokohama A008's when all are compared in wet weather.

The Dunlops don't last long in road use, ask Gafmo... and he's only got an 1152 driving them.
Mind you the Yokos A032Rs may be no better..

Thanks guys, i can't justify the extra cash for the A032R's over the Dunlops i got quoted $145 for the D93J's and $205 for the A032R's and i need two sets.

It's not for a race car, just road car but 4EFTE so lots of power going through them, fries up A048R's quickly, looking at something that lasts a little longer but still performs well.

It is for the price, considering A048R @ $240ea in 5,000km

Even if the D93J's last around the same but cost $400 a set less then they do last longer for the money spent.



I never asked for tires that last forever, the original question in the thread was to compare two R compound tires from people who have used both, and which lasted longer out of the two.

I bought 6 A032Rs from Minisport UK last month. It worked out at about $105 each including freight.

Wow, thanks that's heaps cheaper i just checked for 8 and it was $123 tire inc shipping.

How long did it take for them to arrive?

When I first ordered them they were out of stock (but so was everyone in the UK) but when they came back in they only took about 3 or 4 days to arrive.

AO32 from Minisport for four tyres, 163.76 UKP plus 183 UKP a total of 346.76 UKP.

Yes. Buying 4 doesn't seem to be the most economical way of doing this. I bought 6 (at 36 pounds each, they've now gone up to 40) and the online postage quote was 180 pounds. When they actually posted it, the post ended up being a lot less than quoted.

This meant that the whole transaction came in at just over $105 each including a foreign currency fee of a couple of percent.

It might be worth giving them a call to clarify on what the actual cost of the postage will be.
