I tried the search function but that wasn't much help.

Is there a database for VIN numbers?

If a Cooper S has a VIN number it must be a fake.

How about "Car Number" because that is what BMC called it.

If you want accurate figures it helps to use accurate terminology. Searching for "VIN" will get you nowhere because they don't exist.

Don't beat yourself up, I think everyone knew what you were meaning and you were not asking BMC!

Actually just noticeed theres an error on that site, the prefix for Mk1 should be YKG2S2 not YG2S2

Nah, I would contact the person who created that site and try and make them feel insiginificant and silly over the incorrect terminology used! Then if they asked a reasonable question, I would not answer it simply because that have insulted the BMC gods!

There's no scope for dumb-ass questions around here. Ask them and you'll get hammered.
