What is the smallest wheel you can fit over a cooper S disc brake? I'm looking to run a wide 10'' without flares

You are pretty limited with what you can run without flares.

LS Contessa's will fit without flares, but I believe you sometimes need to file the caliper a tad. I just squeeze Globe sprintmasters on my pano.

LS Contessas are very popular on the Group N cars. It makes them hard to get.

there was a nice white mini at Wakefield in the show and shine car ports that had a set of Performance 10 inc mags that sat under the guards without flares , Wish I took more notice at the time as I to am looking for mags that will fit without flares . I have cooper s discs and drums .

Do 'S' steel rims need flairs with disc brakes?

Dam straight! I haven't seen a set for sale for yonks, like last 4 years. Luckily I have a spare set stashed away...

It is also a pity that the LS ones have a cracking problem though.

Yeah I had 3 sets, one had cracks. To be honest, unless you're racing them the cracks are superficial IMO. It would take one heck of a force to break them apart, even with the cracks. I'd hate to see the state of the rest of the car after said force was applied

The other 2 sets have no such cracks, even after 7 years on my car so not sure if it was a casting flaw on a few sets only or what...

Oh, I agree. I would be getting the cracks fixed and be using them again.
The problem with wheels is that the tyres keep getting stickier and the wheels keep getting older. On the road there is not much of a problem but the track is different.

When I was playing with Production Car racing in the 90s we used to flex the centres out of the Commodore "Chaser" wheels because they copped so much load at places like Eastern Creek. I bet the Police never did that on the Highway!

Interesting you say that, the last person who bought the cracked ones off me did exactly that, and widenned them by 1/2inch...

Anyway sorry to hijack thread, let me know too which wheels I can fit over S brakes without flares...

Did it have discs? I thought they only fit with no flares with non-spacer drums...

Yes , it did have discs , I remember checking that out , wish I had spoke to the owner , Is there any difference between 7 inch disc and 7.5 inch as far as the off set to the drive flange ? Does one stick out further than the other ?
