There are several radiators listed on ebay, is it worth paying extra for a 3 core?
Can any recommend a radiator type and supplier?

UK 3 core is rubbish (not enough fins- and flimsy), their 2 core is dearer but worth the extra.

Personally I would rather a reconditioned Oz 3 core.. just take an old one to a radiator repair shop (old skool ones the best and cheaper).

I have one of these 2 core radiators and would agree +1

Try the alloy ones on eBay. I have one on my car and the cooling difference is very noticeable. They are great and for the price they are definitely worth it. Don't knock them if you haven't tried them. Who cares where they are made. They are a good thing.

The only issue is they are alloy... I suppose you could get them painted black.. Mate has one in his moke and likes it!

My good friend who has raced minis since the 60's uses an alloy rad in his race car. He can't recommend them highly enough if you aren't going for originality.
The rad is even silver too!

Same as that offered from mini-sport aus and will save you about $50 (postage included)

They are suppose to be as good as a 4-core. The 4-cores dont fit in a roundy without mods.

I run a standard 3 core in my mini and it goes fine

But the alloy ones on ebay - you cant go wrong for $100.

They gave fantastic service and advice and super fast delivery, overnight to Sydney has got to be good.
The system works very well moving the temp from the top of the temp gauge to less that half way.
Good product, good service and a very cool result.

I brought one of the eBay alloy ones. I found the 50mm ones don't fit a roundie without mods to the fan shroud. Other than that I can't complain.

Just mods to the fan shroud (engine side) or to the inner guard cowling as well?

I've been thinking about buying one of the 50mm ebay rads for a while. I don't mind modifying any of the brackets etc. on the engine side, but I won't bend or cut the cowling on the inner guard

I just had to modify the fan shroud on the engine side, nothing cut on the inner guard. I cut 10mm off the top and bottom of the shroud and then redrilled the holes on the shroud sides, using bolts to mount to radiator.
There is enough clearence between the fan and radiator without the fan spacer.

agreed, cost $190 to completely rebuild and respray my oz 3 core.
much more worth it than the online stuff.
