I saw it was removed and decided to give him a ring (i wasnt going to buy it i was just interested)

He wouldnt tell me what he sold it for and he wouldnt give me the numbers to add to the register.

He said some lad named Rob from kury kury bought it.

I said if he had left it run its course he probably woulda got 6-7k and he said he got no where near that. So im reckoning someone got it for around 4k which is a great price.

He said pans were good but gutters had some rust.

He said his mate or mates father or someone bought it brand new, and possibly had the handbook with it (he wasnt real sure about this though)

Thats all i know about it

I wonder what the "watch list" numbers were....

I'm sure everyone on AusMini with a GT (or interest in them ) was watching.

Agree could have gone for good money - looked like a 71 basket weave interior with the GT gearknob. Other than the wheels everything looked pretty standard.

Was tossing up whether to bid or not (but with 2 GTs waiting restoration already and no garage room wasn't probable - but don't see GT's like this often)

Hope it has gone to someone who will put the effort into getting it back on the road.

You'd have thought with the early bidding frenzy they'd have let it run...

Sounds like the person who bought it is a member on Ausmini.

Up to him if he reveals himself.

He has ample skills to make a super job of the car.

Say no more! 8)

Good on him/her. Hopefully they got a bargain. Would rather see it go to someone on here that is going to restore it than to someone who is going to scrap it for its lucrative parts value.

If the front end wasnt so square I might have put in a bid myself.

Hiya,

That interior looks in great condition considering the bodywork.

Also, I have a steering pad like that too, and there is the same thing pictured in the Clubman GT brochure.

Have always wondered about that but never seen another one on a car.

Interesting!

I too would love to know the car's number - it may be close to mine (also a Cadiz).

cheers! jon

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Same padded wheel, but the eBay one looks as though it had a round emblem in the centre. Mine is as the one below with the square British Leyland logo.

Body number 2 - plate number 504. :D

The one on ebay is the type that had the round logo with L in the middle, this is
moulded in the pad not a badge
Part Number HYB3873
