Does anyone else remember this old magazine special about 1992? It was on the shelves for a few years.

In there was Paul Skinner's Recooperation article. It was originally spread over a number of issues, but this one was a condensed read.

This article was what got me into the mini bug in a big way. I dreamed of having a car look like this, and wanted to know what it was like to flash up a Cooper S engine from new, and drive it out of the garage. All my old minis were just noisy, smelly, and vibrated a lot.

It turns out, that after spending 10's of thousands to restore a car back to new condition that a new mini from the garage was simply noisy, smelly, and vibrated a lot anyway...but oh well, there you go. At least it didn't leak oil for a little while :)

This was the first car magazine I ever bought back in the early 90's and I read this cover to cover until it fell to bits......but I've kept all the bits and it's still in a plastic bag in my garage! It definitely cemented my love for the little buggers!

Mine is barely there as well! Front cover may have come off pretty early on.

same here.. I have a copy some where.. I would have read it atleast 1000 times..
It was my first ever car mag I bought to.. I remember my year 7 teacher Barry Hughes was in the newsagents, and saw me, He told me that I had to buy it, and the rest is history... I always wanted a MK2 S after the re-Cooperation... Still do... My dream was to own a perfect Cooper S.. It still is.. I am slowly getting there..

Its funny reading peoples responses to this. I had this mag plus a heap of others given to me in the mid 90's. I still have the magazine, also stashed in my garage. Only found it again 6 months ago when I got my first mini (nearly 19 years after reading the article).

I scanned a copy of the recooperation from a mates magazine. Problem with that was my computer crashed a few years later and I lost my scans. Now I back up everything. Would be great if a full copy could go in the brochure section.

I dont think I ever read that one. But I remember buying the Mini Magic magazine, which they just made with articles from that magazine anyway. :-)
I think I even wrote into the mag and got my letter published. I felt famous. :-D

I used to buy that mag too, wish I still had the copy that featured a twin cam head on the cover.

Some of those letter pages in fast fours et al were a crack up. It was either Fords are crap, or rotaries are poofs, or only milk and juice come in two litres. I used to wonder how these neanderthals managed to put a stamp on the envelope after taking time to dip a finger in blue ink to stamp out some words

I've got that Mini Magic series here somewhere too, I think it came out around 98 right? About 6 issues?
