Just wondering what the most hp is someone has heard/seen from a n/a brick engine?
And maybe if you know more, what the set up is?

Also im not sure if these would be the same.. But quickest 0-60miles a hour?

The great Graham Russell is getting over 150bhp from A series race engines.

Check these guys:The short-stroke 970 A-series Cooper S motor was bored to 998cc and modified with a BMW K1200R motorcycle twin cam 4 valve per cylinder head, fuel injection, and an IHI turbocharger and intercooler.[4] The modified engine delivers approximately 286 bhp (213 kW) on pump fuel and 328 bhp (245 kW) on methanol.

Isn't there a flaw with the original question? The most powerful A series mini wouldn't do 0-60, it would probably just shag the gearbox! :D

Henry Drapers 1600cc A series Xflow "KG Powered" sports sedan had 160hp back in the 80's

KAD won the fastest mini in the world race in the 90s with 180hp Twin cam engine.

These days it is quite easy to get 100hp from a 998.

Just bear in mind the higher the HP & RPM, the shorter the life. You want some durability for a road car.
Most fast competition A series motors get stripped & rebuilt (worn bits replaced) every 2nd meeting or so. Sooner, if they go BANG!!

I seem to recall Ian Birrell/Rick Scott's Super Mini Series Scottune Sports Sedan claimed 156hp back in 1978, with a five port head which was a record back then for an Aussie 5 porter n/a Mini, or so Auto Action reported.

Some group Nb cars are well over 160HP now. Measured on an engine dyno.

Its not N/A but the don had a bit. Turbo motors i thought were getting 250hp+ (and i've seen one on turbominis with over 300hp)

GR probably would be close to max NA.

For interests sake a few blokes going by the names Waggot and Leffler had a turbo mini in the 60's that saw 160hp on the dyno (then the homemade wastegate died with the engine)

Interesting chat....

Dyno figures are one thing-they usually sell engines, especially on forums.

Lap times ( current) are another- what do they say" when the flag drops the B******T stops" .....

My two cents worth.

I wonder how much HP your engine is making AB. I saw you pass the other minis at MCM like they had the handbrake on.
Mate can you give us a ballpark figure so that we all where to aim when we build engines.

Dynos can be made to say anything. That means your road car would produce around 115atw, which I find very hard to believe. Any Group N guy I have every spoken to would kill to have a full race engine produce that HP
