welcome to aumini! (i'm glad to see that the stickers DO attract people to ausmini)

Flashing your lights isnt the best idea. its not a sign of anger, but people usually do it to tell others that theres a speed camera ahead.

Welcome Luke & Stevo !

Cappucino - cool 8)

Flashing head lights is a traditional Aussie warning "cops ahead"

Hello,

My name's Steven.

PS noted other thread about waving, in the UK we both wave and flash our lights, is this acceptable here too or is flashing a bad thing (ie anger etc)

Welcome Steven....quite acceptable to wave and/or flash your lights to other enthusiasts....some think its only for warning of police (which is illegal BTW)

Enjoy the sunshine mate :D

Hi my name is Rodd, I am from Northmead, have had my 1968 Deluxe on the road for nearly a year now, after a year long restoration, has been a fun family project with wife and son helping out.

Have met and talked to some of you at Mini Shows, and have seen some of you at my workplace (Direct Tyres, Parramatta). Some of you may have seen my mini at some shows, it is snow white in colour and has twin carbys with opposite standard air filters. Also have a Moke which is shortened due to extensive rust, and in the process of restoring for fun.

Look forward to more contact with you all, but could take sometime as this took me longer to type than to restore the mini :!: (don't use a computer much). :D

G'day Rodd and welcome. Don't take any of the negative Moke comments on here seriously, its all in good fun as the majority of the Moke owners tend to have a good sense of humour.

If you get a chance post some pics of your cars in the member's gallery.
Cheers,

i'm wary of building up false hope but we have at least been told that the car has cleared quarantine and there is a possibility of getting it cleared customs in the next few weeks!

But then again a few weeks back they told us of the 600 consignments they had applied for clearance for in the previous 4 weeks, only 12 had been processed/approved.

Re RSP:

Although the chassis number will confirm that my car is an RSP (Rover Special Products - 1000 limited edition run of the cooper when it was re-introduced in 1989/1990 and prior to it becoming a standard part of the model line up again later in 1990), sadly the ravages of time are slowly removing all traces of evidence which make the car significantly different to the later versions - i've already lost the bonnet to rust (the difference was that the John Cooper signature on the stripes was a seperate decal on top of the stripes instead of being printed straight on to it); I've lost the oil cooler (as a result of replacing the engine (twice).
