Hehe, I know.
I actually made that car 3 or so years ago. I'm surprised the graphics are still on it.

OK,
I have two brand new Tamiya M-03 minis currently at my disposal. If anyone is interested, let me know. As time goes on I will slowly build and possibly upagrade the cars, and paint if anyone would like.
Here's the car, just to confirm:

Yay I have an update!!!! It aint much, but it's progress.....

Found a set of wheels that really grabbed my attention...

Image

Image

These new wheels are actually 1:10 scale wheels, where as my car is actually 1:8 scale. Yes, the wheels are slightly smaller than the original ones, but only by a few millimetres. No big deal.

The best bit is the fact that they have a 13mm dish, giving them that PHAT 13x7 look of a real mini. They are also 37mm wide (10mm wider than the original ones). The only thing i dont like is the wheel track - it is still too narrow for the body - so I will need to make some extended hex spacers for behind the wheels.

I have also converted the drivetrain to front wheel drive, to add a bit of realism to the handling.

Just waiting for some modelling tape to arrive before I start painting (White body, Charcoal roof, red interior)

This thing is costing me more than my supercharger kit  :) :? :(

And I just found an upgrade list that includes lightweight clutches, gearboxes, different main ratios, bigger motors...... somebody hide my wallet PLEASE

Just so you know SC850, those wheels are for show and slow driving only.
If they hit anything, they'll shatter on impact. The spokes on those aren't re-enforced.
Spacers aren't hard, any small washer should do the trick.
Looks pretty good though.

get a car charge thing, attach it to your cars battery and run the car for 10 minutes, battery is then fully charged!!!, the so called fast chargers are crap, but the ones that you put on your car battery is brilliant, works on planes and boats too for those who do it all. like me :)

I dont think so. Mines a nitro one.

Its all the bloody AA's - 8 for the controller, 4 for the car..... and my battery charger only takes 4 at a time

If you are clever you can put a plug into the controller to charge all 8 whilst
they are in there. You just need a 9.6- 12v charger for it.

FINALLY pulled my finger out and splashed a bit of colour on my RC beast....

Unfortunately, I had some issues with the paint application. The roof paint is metallic and you can see where the paint has pooled towards the lowest point (painted upside down). I did a very fine first coat but it still pooled - what a bastard. And then the paint actually made its way under the masking tape in a few places, so there are some really rough looking edges. Hopefully some detailing stickers (chrome perhaps) will cover the bad bits. Until then, here it is at 85% completion...

I also need to make a chrome grille and maybe some bumper bars for it...

Am pretty happy with it... even if my effort was a bit half arsed

RC mini thread is back for a while I see.
Here's my latest work in progress:

I still haven't decided if it get bumpers, or a body kit, or anything else yet.
I'm in no hurry to finish it, ten minutes here and there is enough.
