whats a happening bout the screen saver

Ahhh-I think it's a bit early to be asking....
Doesn't finish until 13th December :)

Yes we are in the consultation phase at the moment - you lot are being given 2 whole weeks to put forward any and all photographic candidates that you would like to see included in the finished product this year. You are also have to opportunity to voice your opinion on which ones you like best and therefore should be included.

I have been keeping a low profile in this topic to not overly influence the outcome of any debates but I have been keeping some ludicrously detailed statistics on the entries

To date we have had a total of 142 individual photographs entered into the comp - a record I believe! 37 pictures have now recieved at least one vote in addition to the member posting it.

A little inside info - one vote is not going to be enough to get you into the final. So don't think just becasue you put a pic up it is going to get in. Even if someone liked it you're still not going to get in. Only the 20 most popular photos will be selected this year and that means you have to vote for the ones you really want and tell us

Make a list of the file names of your favourites like some have done. There are going to be 20 winners so you can nominate up to 20 entries you would like to see included. There are plenty of pics to choose from now - so have a browes through all the pages of this topic again and note down the ones you want in YOUR screen saver, then post up your selections NOW

You have only 4 days left before final selections start - Nominate NOW

Hi All - My applogies for being a bit slack and not getting back to this one last night. Christmas and all that - Busy busy busy.

OK - Time is up and all have had plenty of opportunity to submit their best photos and put in a vote for those that they like the best. I am closing this one off for the year.

Entries are now closed.

Results are very interesting - while we had at least one vote recieved for 40 of the142 entries recieved, we had 2 or more votes for 18 of these.

With 18 photos being so close to the target of 20 we were looking for, I don't beleive we need a further protracted vote to find 2 out of the 22 remaining. And besides I'm not really up to running one anyway so I'm just adding a couple of entries I like to make up the numbers and will begin the process of producing the saver immediately.

Which pics got in? you'll have to wait and find out  - publication will occur as soon as possible.

While everyone would like to be in the saver, there are going to be those that don't get in and so will be disapointed. No correspondence will be entered into about selection. The judges decision [they being you lot who voted] is final.

Cheers Dat
