Saw the boy today and its amazing the difference. Once a tired old retiring type sitting on the grass at mums, EVL is coming along BRILLIANTLY. I am a little scared about the cutting off the front for a flip front, but each to their own eh..

PICS..??

lol... if i was still going at the rate i started it would be done now.. lol

and doing lots of night shifts at work helps having the time.. start at 3 and home by 10 so it give you a fair bit of spare time..

But it is coming down to the fun time of HAVING TO SPEND $$$$$ to get more done.. o well money and time are not a issue on this project at all. its more about my skill to to the work and the tools to do what I want..

How did you do the wing removal? Did you just roughly jigsaw then gring the seams back? If not can you detail what you did becuase I'm seriously considering doing exactly that.

Ok. I drilled out all the spot welds that were there. all on the front and left gaurd.
The right gaurd had been replaced at some stage and I had to go slow and grind out the bronze type welds. that took about 2 hours of work.. and a few hours of looking and drinking and smoking,,

How did you drill out the spot welds? Did you use a special drill bit? Did you drill all the way through the good panels seam? (No from the looks of it)

I just used metel drill bits.. I think you cazn get ones for doing spot welds. I did not drill all the way through. you just drill down till you go through the layer.. i am not using anything that came off so i did not care about them to much. but if you are going to put some of the panels back on.. then you just need to weld where you drilled the holes .. and good as gold..
