Greetings all.
My name is Ben.
I've always had a soft spot for the old mini. So about a year or so ago (when the finances permitted.) I bit the bullet and bought the first mini i saw that seemed decent.
A deseamed, 63/850, converted to wind up windows with a 1275, Disk's up front and adjustable hight, camber and toe with 13" gold minilite's. (I will eventually post some pics, but for now I?ll work on descriptions)
If you think you might know this car, I am always wanting to learn more of her history. I know, through the motorkhana pics section of hotbricks website. That she was used in motorkhanas but that?s all I know.
She cost a bit, but has taught me a lot and did not in the least bit settle my soft spot. On the contrary it seems to have fired up, what I am beginning to think is a disease, Or should I say an addiction.
So today I went out and bought myself another two
For those of you who live in Adelaide (me to). May have seen them in the trader the last few weeks. A mini deluxe and a Morris panel-van in Blackwood.
I was mainly after a van body to start a solid project build. But the deluxe would have been so lonely left out in the yard all alone, that I figured I had better take him to. The deluxe has a severe case of cancer and I fear is not long for this world. But buy some freak of coincidence, he is cancer free in the doors. Which works well cos the only real rust in the van.... is in the doors.
Now here is my first question for the day. . Would a mini deluxe door fit to a Morris windowed van? Or is more detail on each car required before anyone can say?
Second question for the night is..... The van came with a second set of rear doors, But they are off a Leyland van (still have the badge on them). Are these an interchangeable part or do I need to sauce some Morris ones?
I know I could just try changing the doors to find out, but this seems so much easier.
Oo, oo, another question is... how the hell do I get into a locked deluxe boot if I don?t have a key?
Ok enough questions. Enough prattle. I liked em and now I love em. What can ya do.
Well that?s kind of an introduction so, Hi to everyone and I look forward to sharing a hobby and a passion with like minded people.
