If I wasn't at work all day I would have joined you for a drive to Bathurst. Have nowhere near enough K's for the dyno day - no dyno for Smokey. :( :(

Great pics. :D :D

Thought about buying Hi-Los... :? Got quote for Hi-Los... :) Didn't like price... :( Thought I should double check car... :? Found car already has Hi-Los on the front! :o :D

Why did I think about buying Hi-Los? Because the front of the car is sitting higher than the rear. :? Previous owner put in new rubber springs (or so he claimed), but he didn't mention Hi-Los. And he didn't explain why the front was sitting so high. Why one would install Hi-Los and have the front (relatively) so high is beyond me (I like a little rake in a car's ride height). Rear has shiny standard trumpets, which is fine with me.

So, instead of buying Hi-Los, I bought a trolley jack (2000kg - no point in buying a jack if I can't lift the front of the 4WD off the ground, too), so I can adjust/shorten my existing Hi-Los. :D Eventually...

Mine has 11,000 miles up now, so it'll be interesting whether HP has gone up, or down...

Took a drive up to Ipswich to see Ken Nelson from Mini Automotive.

He gave "FAX" a good look over, grease and oil change fixed the front wheel bearings, adjusted the brakesand clutch, timing and carb adjustment and sent me on my way.

It was a 220km round trip and worth every cent as anything Ken doesn't know about Minis isn't worth knowing (I am sure the local Mini owners already know this).

Great guy, great job, great day!

Thanks again Ken.

Stripped and cleaned the other front hub, greased the ball joints then repacked the wheel bearings with new Castrol HTB. Surprising how little grease there was left in there, after only a year or so.

Also fitted a new taper-roller to the left rear, which was binding up. Had a close look at the bearing cone which came off, it was in pretty poor condition given it's only been on for 6 months -- a fair amount of pitting evident. I suspect the Chinese are at work here...

Nearly ready for The Job, just a grease-n-oil change left to do 8)

Received the call that my Mini is not ready to be picked up from the panel beaters. :?

So I fixed the drivers side window on the Rover.
