I'm safe then, because I have two of them.

Whatever happened to all the Morris 1100s, there were zillions of em. We had a couple (1100S auto and 1300 auto) and surely they don't rust any worse than Minis do?
I know a lot finished up repowering Minis, but why is it so????
Please explain....

I have continuously owned Morris 1100s since 1979, I have always had at least one. At one stage I had 7 in my dads backyard.

I must admit I have owned one and I wouldn't say no to one either.

So right, the Morris 1100 was once the best selling car in the country. Wheels Car of the Year at one time. They were to be seen literally everywhere, more prolific than Minis even. Many people bought them because they had four doors and a boot and were incredibly roomy inside. Front wheel drive, new then, and hydro suspension, even newer, were major drawcards. The Austin 1800 was also pretty popular here.

Now an 1100 is a very rare sight indeed.

Correct...car fashions change, some live longer than others....but remember...a lot of 1100s wore organ donor bracelets and died so that Minis could go faster 8)

OK Guys - what is your ideal shed - within reason - If you were building from scratch - not necessarily a tin shed but had the flexibility of building a timber frame so there could be some shape variations and you have an acre to play on.

How would you lay it out, arrange it and fit it out. What would go inside and outside. What 'special' feature would you add to make life easy. How many Minis would you plan for and fit them in?

From my shed thread ,

Well the design evolution continues ...

After getting frustrated looking at designs for shed's with mezzanine floors and the various support post's needed (unless going for a monumental frame more suited to an aircraft hanger) which I think would annoy me trying to arrange car's and things I had a "lightbulb moment" ... I'm now looking at a basic 6m X 9m shed with a modified 20 foot insulated shipping container mounted on concrete piers attached to one side for the models/books/brochures/display stuff . By using a container it can be sealed up against dust , paint , fumes , moisture etc and locked securely but also when the need arrises another one can be put beside it to double the space . Cost's look considerably cheaper than a two level shed and there are no internal supports to get in the way .

I think I like the idea of the containers on the side rather than out the front either side of the concrete slab now . Maybe dress the front as an old fashioned country mechanics shed with a square facade and some signs , a bowser etc ...
