After several occasions where I've been sniped on eBay within the last 5 seconds of an auction I've been thinking about joining the enemy and using sniping software (i.e. the systems that automatically bid for you in the final few seconds). Anyone use such tools and, if so, which one? What is your experience?

I tried auctionsniper once and found it useless as it takes too long to put a higher maximum bid in if it's just above what you wanted near the end . Normally I just wait till the end and keep fingers crossed the net works and we don't have a blackout ...

Am I missing something . . . . what makes him think someone will now pay more for it than he did a few weeks ago on Ebay :? :?

mmmmmm,

Open market, demand and supply, some people don't look on ebay (don't know any mini-hunters who don't though!) - we'll see how it goes - guess he will have to pay shipping to Perth if no sale. Just a teeny bit jealous myself (being Miniless and hunting!) and would have liked the minis listed then to be in Sydney so I could have checked them out and maybe snavelled one.

You don't need it if you know what the maximum you can bid is , just put that in . If you still get outbid , you were never going to get it at any price

Bidding on Ebay is a bit like playing poker. By leaving bidding to the last moment there is less likelihood that someone else will enter a higher bid. If I enter my highest bid five days before the auction ends I'm simply setting a limit that others can pick away at. Better to keep my limit close to my chest until the death knock.
