It was only supposed to be just round the corner. :? Also, if I walk to the petrol station without my car then I have to walk back as well. Taking the car with me halved the walking. ;)

Walking the distance to and for the car with only a 5.5 kg load relative to an estimated 70kg body would contribute 7% of the body weight and therefore be classed as an aerobic excercise which leads to reduced fat mass in the legs and around the waist. Carrying the 5.5 kg load would subtly flex the deltoid and tricep muscles only slightly so there would be improved muscle tone there as well.

Pushing a car 900% of one own's body weight would have reduced the distance but requires more muscle involvement and thus would lead to a higher release of lactic acid and significant muscle build up of the gluteus minimus and maximus, quadriceps and gastrocnemii, and to a lesser degree the triceps and serratus.

Molly good work glad you thought it through

Actually I weigh closer to 50kg, FYI. ;)

And the majority of the trip was flat or slightly downhill. So if you think about it i wasn't actually carrying anything at any time. I wasn't holding a 6kg can off the ground against the force of gravity. There were times that I could sit in the car and roll, thus having a rest.

Geez man! Just buy a $10 can!!!

I ran out once, bought a $10 can. I now keep the can in the boot for other... err... rainy days

Top story Camel! Outstanding as always!

My sister always had one in the boot of her 'matic. Eventually the metal tin rolled over the battery terminals, arced out & caught fire :!:

Fortunately they had the sense to bail out when they smelled the smoke & not open the boot. Turned out the tin was virtually empty. When I retrieved it there was FA damage, just a heavy coating of soot right through the boot (no oxygen for a good fire).
