Bad news. GT tax is actually more than Cooper S tax. :? The bits are in fact rarer. And nobody makes repro bits. Good luck finding a 6500 redline tacho... :cry:

They had a Cooper S donk. With a shorter diff ratio. (3.6:1?)

Nope. The mounts for the RH tank weren't right. And the 1275 was an 1100s block, not Cooper S 'open-back' type.

Remember the two arrows on top of the motor? OIL---->

WATER----->

haha, what i mean is that i find it improbable that the factory would put a redline of 6500 on a stock a series motor

I have a GT one in Ha-Ha, it was a stock S box with 3.44 diff.
UK 1275GT had the 3.647 diff (but so did Mini-K). 8)

re the 6500 redline, that's OK, it was a proper 1275S motor (early ones, anyhow).
