Glad im not the only one that hates that bloody plastic filler cap, especially now with fuel prices would love a locking aston fuel cap

Yeah, my fuel budget is going to consist of a length of hose and a mint.

Tip : Don't eat the mint first

Aha bungle are you talking about rainbow with zippy etc which was hosted by an australian for the best part of its years?
Na the ozzies would know nothing of the programme.

Plenty overseas people on the board and always make you feel welcome even when you visit, i hear that its best to visit when they are having a pi55 up or they are tea total otherwise.

I took 1 bottle of rum with me over there and guess what i bought it back with me also.

I'm sorry I missed meeting you yesterday on my fly by visit, I'm guessing your car was one of the 3 Rovers parked in formation? In order to change the petrol cap, is it simply a case of ordering an Aston Cap and clicking it on, or do you have to change the neck that it screws onto?

Yes that was us we was in middle of three, the cap is held on by grub screws and this tightens down on standard filler neck, we made ours a bit more anti theft but no need to change filler neck Mate, buy the whst model do you have

I have nothing at the moment, but hope to take delivery next month of a 88 Rover. I'm guessing that in order to pass ADRs it will also need the black plastic petrol cap.

With the Aston cap, where did ya get it? :)

thank you all for your welcomes :)

i had a look at this black fuel caps, they look awful im sorry to say  teh aston fuel caps really finish it off, mines a slightly different one to the common chrome ones like here :-

http://www.minisport.com/classic-mini-shop/products/exterior-styling/brightwork/special-brightwork/fuel-filler-caps-and-dummy-filler-neck/aston-fuel-filler-cap-chrome-product.html

I didnt like the slightly bigger sharp edges chrome look so i got a all alloy one.

and 'minicranks' yep its the same bungle from Rainbow.... from my youth
