850_Van: You said the back seat in that van was the same as what was in the travellers. I've had a look around the web, and i can't figure out if on the travellers the seat back folds down and then the whole seat assembly folds into the foot space, like in this bloke's van, or if it just folds out of the way.

If the seat can be folded into the floor, giving the same cargo space as a van, then i want a traveller! Please tell me what you know.

nup!!! 8)
have a look at the pics... the van did have a rear seat... and part as of the restoration, they cut a hole in the floor, to mount the seat that "new" way.
anyone with a van can do it.

with the genuine travellers & countrymen, the back seat base folds up & forward against the back of the front seats first & then the back of the back seat folds down level-ish with the floor

Even the Australian factory converted wagons had this same set up,,,

totally different design to the made up one shown in the green van

The green van seems to have had the kit BMC dealers fitted to vans as an option in the UK. No purchase tax was payable on a van and the dealer could fit the seat later.

As TheMiniMansays, very different to a genuine Traveller/Countryman.

Nice work though!
