when I bought my mini it had a new skimmed block, but no numbers.. so what did I do...
I noticed that there were two 1/8 holes about 40 mm apart. I stamped a piece of aluminium with the number which appeared on the rego papers and then used studs to stick it to the block... worked, no questions. but clearly the numbers were fresh and the ally was clean. The car went for a blue slip and passed without a hitch. Makes me wonder what they checked on the car.

...and this is in at the best place in Geelong for engine machining! Mini mechanics right through to diesel mechanics recomend North Geelong Engine Reconditioners!

Yay..........picked up all of my goodies for the engine rebuild today. Getting the block skimmed cost $84 plus GST........bit of a difference to the $50 you were quoted JAM.

They machined off the engine number but re-stamped it for me though :)

Hooroo
