The Enfield plant was a joke. It was like assembling cars from meccano bits. I never saw the mini production, but I saw the last of the Mokes and CKD of Peugots and trucks. Tractor production was finished and we were selling the last of them in 1980/1. People forget the trucks and tractors. I can't recall seeing Land Rovers there now I come to think of it but recall seeing the 6 wheel drive prototype LR being put together at Moorebank for the army. I got retrenched from JRA so did not see Enfield shut down.
